The Weet-Bix Twenty20 Cup is a junior club tournament for teams in the Under 12, Under 14 and Under 16 divisions. The rules are designed to encourage participation, ensuring as many players as possible are involved in the match in some way. Q: Why get involved? The series aims to encourage enjoyment and to allow players to develop their cricket skills and knowledge. Q: Where are the finals played? Preliminary round matches for each division are organised by the competing clubs, with games often played instead of training. Semi-finals and finals are played at a central venue as part of a carnival, with the finals day played at major international venues. |
Q: How did this season finish up? On Sunday 6 March, the six best junior T20 teams in the state assembled at the Sydney Cricket Ground to battle for the title of Weet-Bix Twenty20 Cup Champion. The fourth annual finals day at the SCG was the culmination of junior Twenty20 competitions held across Metropolitan Sydney during the 2010/11 season. Q: How many teams were involved? A total of 106 junior club teams entered this season, playing 225 preliminary and knock out games. Cricket NSW and Weet-Bix would like to thank all of the teams and clubs who have participated in the 2010/11 series and look forward to your involvement once again in 2011/12.
