Now in its 21st year, the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is now accepting registrations for another sell-out series with 10 events to be held around Australia from February to May 2019.

The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is designed for kids aged seven to 15, no matter their sporting abilities or experience. It supports kids’ health and wellbeing by giving them an opportunity to enjoy healthy outdoor activity and boost their self-esteem in a fun and friendly environment which rewards everyone for just ‘giving it a TRY!’*

Weet-Bix Kids Tim Cahill and Stephanie Gilmore, along with Libby Trickett, Mitchell Johnson, Steve ‘Commando’ Willis and Annette Edmondson are among the inspirational sporting heroes who will be cheering on this year’s participants. The non-competitive initiative forms part of Sanitarium’s mission to help give Aussie kids the right foundation to realise their healthy, happy potential.

Sanitarium’s Community Engagement Manager David Martin said: “To see those kids crossing the finish line – kids of all different abilities – you can just see it all over their faces. They’re grinning from ear-to-ear and they feel unstoppable! If the TRYathlon goes any way towards instilling in them a love of physical activity and giving the next generation of Aussies a positive voice inside their head that says, ‘I can do it’, then that’s powerful.”

Health and Care provider Bupa is now in its 12th year as the Series’ Platinum Sponsor and is once again pleased to be able to extend its mission of supporting family connections through the event.

“Seeing your kids cross the finish line of the TRYathlon is a big moment for any parent,” said Jane Power, Chief Marketing and Chief Customer Officer, Bupa.

“As a health and care company, Bupa’s aim is to make a difference to the overall health and wellbeing of families. One of the ways we do this is by providing families with opportunities to enjoy both the special and everyday moments of family connection. That in itself is why we’re such long-term supporters of the TRYathlon – it’s a fantastic event for families around the country to get involved in together.”

To help prepare the whole family for the event and make the most of those moments of connection, Bupa has created the Family Get Ready Guide, found online at bupa.com.au/get-ready
